Course Description: This level of math is an opportunity for students to strengthen the math skills they have learned to this point. Basic mathematics is reviewed, and one goal is to make that foundation stronger to support the student as they move forward toward “higher math.” The introduction of algebraic concepts and the use of variables in basic math functions are explored. This is an opportunity to improve problem- solving skills, to hone basic math functions, to introduce rational and linear exponents, ratios, proportions, percentage, and to solve basic variable equations. Helping students build a strong foundation to aid in the transition to Algebra I will be our main focus.
