Course Description: This course is designed for 4th-6th grade level students. The class has a heavy focus on English grammar: subject/noun, predicate/verb, prepositions and prepositional phrases, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, and clauses will be taught as parts of speech. Students will also learn types of sentences, capitalization, punctuation rules, and basic writing skills. Literature will be geared toward these grade levels. Spelling and vocabulary will also be components of the class. Three books will be read during the year and reports will be given based on the book the student selects: oral report, outline with an oral report, and finally, a written report with an oral report.
