Course Description: Students will learn and perfect basic sewing skills, ranging from how to use and control a sewing machine, basic hand mending to creative embroidery skills. Several projects will be completed during the course. For the cooking portion, basic cooking/baking skills will be expanded. No “soggy bottoms” on our pies!! Students will learn to make sweet and savory dishes, basic cake decorating skills, food presentations, and of course food safety. At the end of class (among other items), students will have completed their own apron and tote bag, and have their own cake decorating kit, baking pans, and cooling rack.

Supply Fee: $175
Cooking: a wooden rolling pin, measuring spoons and cups.
Sewing: a good pair of fabric shears, a small pair of sewing scissors [for cutting thread] and a pin cushion. Parents will be responsible for occasional items for their students. Example: “x” number of yards of fabric or student desired colored thread.
